7% of entries were awarded a partial scholarship.

What is the value of my prize?

A document outlining the details of our offer is attached to your Immerse Education Essay Competition results email.

Can you increase the value of my prize?

In awarding our essay prizes for 2020, we are currently at the limit of our funding for the coming summer and are therefore unable to increase the award offered. There was a secondary round of prize reviews by the judges in which released funding was reallocated. If your essay was part of the secondary review, you should now have received an update.

Previous participants have been able to secure additional bursaries and funding from local charities and education authorities and this may similarly be able to provide assistance for you. Many found that globalgiving.org was a useful place to start.

Can I have an extension on the deadline?

If you require additional time to consider your offer, please do get in touch with our team to discuss this. Extensions will be assessed on a case by case basis.

The Essays

How many essays did you receive?

The 2020 Immerse Education Essay Competition received 5,136 entries.

7% of entries were awarded a partial scholarship.

I submitted essays for several categories, did you receive them?

Rest assured that the judges reviewed all the essays that we received. Where your results email mentions just one subject to receive a prize, this was the only subject that the judges selected to receive a prize.

Can I have feedback on my essay?

Due to the extremely high number of entries we received, we are unable to provide feedback on individual essays.
In general, judges commended entries that clearly communicated original and compelling ideas in response to the question. The quality and range of research included in the essay was also a significant factor in most essays.
