Thursday evening was an exciting event for the Immerse team – the British Youth Travel Awards are a great opportunity to hear about the latest developments in the world of youth travel and better still, we were finalists in two categories!
This was the 11th year of the awards which celebrate successes across this fast-paced and growing industry. I was therefore very pleasantly surprised to be announced as the winner of one of the categories! Winning the award for Rising Star in such a huge industry was simultaneously a great honour and very embarrassing – a classic British reaction. While it is lovely to be recognised for the work I’m doing, the kind words from the other competitors and the presence of several cameras was quite overwhelming. I was grateful for the support of my team and ultimately, my success would never have been possible without their incredible work.
Immerse is truly passionate about the education it provides and that the experience of each participant is exceptional. It’s no wonder we were finalists for Best Educational Product! Everyone in the team strives to deliver the best work that they possibly can and it creates a fantastic environment of support and innovation. I’m delighted to have won the Rising Star award but ultimately it’s a reflection of the team rather than my individual contributions.
Looking forward, Immerse continues to grow with new tech-programmes and exciting alumni opportunities on the horizon. I’m proud of how much we have achieved in 2018 and excited for the new developments in 2019!Kirsty McLaren Categories: Blog Tags: Immerse Education news 10851 Ideas Ablaze at the Academic Fair
With all the fabulous activities that have been taking place, I almost forgot to mention the tremendous success of Immerse’s recent academic fair! This took place on Sunday, and gave participants the opportunity to attend subject-specific talks, Q&A sessions and advice drop-ins.
With an array of subject “booths” on offer, participants had plenty of opportunity to query mentors on Engineering, Architecture, Human, Social & Political Sciences and more. Additional workshops covered the basics of applying as an international student and applying for deferred entry. It is safe to say that Immerse had everything covered!
As always, our academic fair was extremely popular, with students making the most of the occasion. A huge thank you goes to our mentor Wali, for organising the fair and overseeing the day, to ensure its smooth running.blogger Categories: Blog Tags: academic, Immerse Education news 10344 Immerse Education wins the 2018 Queen’s Award for Enterprise
Today is the Queen’s 92nd birthday, and what do you think Her Majesty does? Hint, she does not blow out her birthday candles. The Queen takes this day to award the UK’s most prestigious business awards, known simply as the Queen’s Awards.
It is with great pleasure that we announce that Immerse Education Ltd has been awarded the Queen’s Award for Enterprise. To be recognised by Her Majesty is a huge honour and a testament to the unique, educational experiences we have been providing students from across the world.
Since our foundation in 2012, we have welcomed thousands of students from over 60 nationalities to the UK to spend their summer learning in one of the world’s greatest seats of learning, Cambridge.
Winning the Queen’s Award for Enterprise shows that students from across the world continue to recognise and seek to benefit from studying in the UK. There are over 400,000 international students studying in higher education in the UK and with the UK being home to 3 universities in the world’s top ten and 7 in the world’s top 50, it is easy to see why. At Immerse, we are honoured to be able to give high school students an insight into what life at a UK university would be like and it is a very valuable opportunity for students to do so.
Having our international, residential, academic summer programmes recognised by Her Majesty the Queen is another example of how important UK education is our students and to the rest of the world.
When will we get the prize? Will we get to meet the Queen? In June, Immerse Education will be taking a trip to Buckingham Palace to receive our award from the Queen herself, and needless to say we are all very excited to meet Her Majesty. Maybe Prince George will be joining our programme in a couple of years, who knows?
We are absolutely delighted to receive the Queen’s Award and we will continue to provide all of our students with outstanding educational experiences.admin Categories: Blog Tags: Immerse Education news
