The Programme Manager is a key figure in the Immerse Education team. The successful applicant will manage a team of staff and a campus of international students to ensure that the high expectations of academic delivery, safety, welfare, organisation and student enjoyment are met. It is a managerial role with a strong pastoral element. The Programme Manager will:

  • Oversee the organisation and execution of academic classes and social activities
  • Lead and manage the summer mentor team
  • Respond to queries and concerns from parents
  • Handle and respond to the day-to-day demands presented by the 15-18 year old students
  • Manage the Immerse Education academic staff
  • Communicate with the onsite College staff
  • Facilitate the pre-course organisation of operational and procedural aspects such as Health & Safety forms and Risk Assessments
  • Provide guidance on matters of welfare and student discipline, and be responsible for all matters relating to student safeguarding.

The role involves a high level of responsibility and requires excellent organisational, delegation and managerial skills with extensive suitable experience. Applicants must be friendly and approachable, in addition to having extensive knowledge of Cambridge and its university.

Previous experience in taking an active role in running educational courses or institutions is preferred (such as as a housemaster / housemistress in a boarding school), though applicants with strong leadership experience in other fields will also be considered.

College Managers provide senior-level management within each Cambridge University College, holding responsibility for the safety and welfare of approximately 40 to 150 young people and up to 12 staff at any one time. You will be assisted and supported by various logistical, pastoral and academic staff. The involves a high level of responsibility and requires excellent organisational, delegation and managerial skills with extensive suitable experience. The role could include the following:

  • Managerial: College Managers must quickly bond their team and develop an understanding of their staff members’ strengths and weaknesses. It is the CM’s job to encourage and enthuse the team and at the same time support and direct them to create a team dynamic that is energetic, cohesive and proactive. As a CM you should be nurturing and approachable.
  • Pastoral: Provide appropriate and attentive care, managing any behavioural issues in a calm, timely and respectful manner and build a positive rapport with the students in your care.
  • Logistics & Organisation

We are looking for enthusiastic undergraduates currently attending Cambridge University or Oxford University to join our residential mentor team over the summer to assist in organising and leading participants of the Immerse Education course.

We take pastoral care very seriously, and so we’re looking for outgoing, friendly and approachable individuals who are comfortable in managing small groups of participants and creating a ‘home away from home’. 

It’s a demanding and rewarding role, which is as much about enjoyment as it is about responsibility. We are looking for residential mentors who can commit to at least two weeks during the summer.

Time Commitments:
  • Minimum of 2 consecutive weeks between June 29th 2019  – 26th August 2019

We’re looking for tutors who can tutor small groups of students aged 13-15 or 16-18 years olds in a wide range of academic subjects.

As an academic tutor, you’ll not only be an expert in your field but also have a passion for bringing your expertise into the classroom in a fun and engaging manner.

You will need to be able to plan and deliver lessons that achieve the programme’s learning outcomes while providing a memorable experience for your students.

Minimum Requirements:

Undergraduate teaching experience at top world-leading universities

Please note that all successful applicants will need or be willing to apply for an enhanced DBS to work for Immerse Education.

As a Wellbeing Advisor with Immerse Education, you’ll help us meet our young people’s emotional needs and lead our Pastoral Team. You will be committed to fulfilling the potential of each and every one of our young people.  No matter what their educational needs (including emotional, physical and social), you share our belief that all young people are capable of achieving great things. The role will focus on attendance, behavioural, pastoral and welfare issues, in order to maximise the learning opportunities and ultimately outcomes for your children and young people.

The successful candidate will have a good understanding of all aspects of child care and health and safety, and will be passionate about the welfare of children, with some experience of working with children in a professional setting.

Time Commitments:
  • Full time between 28th June 2019  – 26th August 2019

Do you have a passion for videography? Do you like the idea of working with children and capturing memories that will last a lifetime?  The Immerse Education Campus Videographer will be on hand during the Immerse Education programme to document the life of the students. Joining activities, classes and coach excursions the videographer will integrate themselves with the students and staff to get the most engaging images to reflect life at Immerse Education.  Videos will be shared with students to remember their summer, and also used on social media and future marketing campaigns.

Responsibilities include:

  • Take appropriate footage that show a varied program and atmosphere, ensuring images are taken of every attendee. These should be:
  • Work with our photographers to create a slideshow/film for colleges at end of each session which will be shown at graduation and the final night party
  • Update footage daily to our shared Google Drive – to be used on social media
  • It will be your responsibility to capture high-quality footage while displaying confidence and professionalism at all times

You will be expected to provide all of your own equipment (Video Camera, tripod, lenses with varying focal lengths) – waterproof/sports equipment or drones are desirable.

Time Commitments:
  • Full time between 30th June 2019  – 26th August 201

Do you like the idea of working with children and capturing memories that will last a lifetime?  The Immerse Education Campus Photographer will be on hand during the Immerse Education programme to document the life of the students. Joining activities, classes and coach excursions the Photographer will integrate themselves with the students and staff to get the most engaging images to reflect life at Immerse Education.  Photos will be shared with students to remember their summer, and also used on social media and future marketing campaigns.

Responsibilities include:

  • Take appropriate images that show a varied program and atmosphere, ensuring images are taken of every attendee. These should be:
  • Create slideshow for colleges at end of each session which will be shown at graduation and the final night party.
  • Ensure consent is received, and consent forms are issued, if required
  • Update images daily to our shared Google Drive – to be used on social media
  • Teach a creative, engaging workshop for students organising a photography exhibition at the end of each programme (including getting images printed)
  • It will be your responsibility to capture high-quality images while displaying confidence and professionalism at all times

You will be expected to provide all our own equipment (DSLR, tripod, lenses with varying focal lengths) – waterproof/sports equipment or drones are desirable.
