What do our alumni have to say?

Our previous participants have some truly inspiring stories to tell.

The most beneficial part was developing confidence in expressing my ideas in an academic environment. The programme helped me improve my critical thinking, communication skills, and understanding of Economics. It also gave me a clearer vision of what studying at university abroad could be like.
Rehan M
Economics, Academic Insights, Oxford
I'm completely satisfied with the programme! Everything was very well organised. Any questions or issues were dealt with quickly, and my mentor was absolutely wonderful.
Veronika T
Architecture, Academic Insights, Cambridge
In 3 days, I've learned many things that will help me in university. I can create a bibliography and correctly quote and paraphrase any sources. I truly recommend this program for the useful knowledge I gained.

I found the Oxbridge Research Programme classes very interactive. I was able to work one on one with my tutor, which meant that I could ask the questions which I found most important, and allowed me to go more in-depth into what I was most interested in. My tutor had economics experience from university, which meant that I was able to experience what studying economics at university would be like. I found it was very personal to me because it allowed me to go into my own interests rather than taking a course that would cover a whole variety of economics.
Shreya G
Economics, Online Research
What I found most beneficial was how much I learned about the business world in such a short time. The mix of theory and real-life experience through industry visits really helped me understand how things work beyond the classroom. I also improved my communication and teamwork skills, and I feel more confident speaking in English. On top of that, meeting people from different backgrounds and working together gave me a more global perspective, which I know will be very useful in the future.
María L
Business Management, Career Insights, New York
It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and I wanted to make the most of it. It really was a key stepping stone for me to see what engineering could really look like.
Amberleigh C
Engineering, Career Insights, Tokyo
The programme strengthened both my academic knowledge and my confidence. It confirmed that medicine is the path I want to pursue while also helping me develop skills such as critical thinking, communication, and collaboration. Hearing different perspectives from students around the world broadened my understanding of healthcare and showed me how medicine is approached in different countries. I left feeling more motivated, more confident, and with a clearer vision of my future goals.
Yue Y
Medicine, Academic Insights, Oxford
The most beneficial part was developing my independent research and critical thinking skills. Through working on my personal project, I learned how to structure a coherent research question, find reliable economic data, and build a clear, evidence-based argument. The one-on-one guidance from my tutor helped me realise that economics is not just about memorising formulas: it's a powerful tool for understanding the real world. These experiences have fully prepared me for university-level economics study.
Yuxuan M
Economics, Academic Insights, Cambridge
TED summer programme is one of a kind. Many people take for granted their ability to communicate but the truth is that if we all were good communicators, wars wouldn't even exist. So, from my perspective, proper public speaking skills are fundamental for life and that is why I came here.
Maryejli M
TED Summer School, London
My time in Sydney with Immerse has honestly been one of the best things I have ever done. I learnt so much from all the inspirational tutors who have motivated me to challenge myself academically. This experience has allowed me to develop so many amazing new friendships from all over the world. Each and every moment at immerse was engaging, fun and insightful.

The Immerse Education programme is a useful experience for both learning and personal career. I learned a lot, met new people, understood new concepts and most importantly I enjoyed it one hundred percent. You get an overview of many topics and realise the world behind what you don’t know about. In my opinion, this was the best choice I could ever make at this age.

FAQs

Can you tell me more about the residential Mentors?

Participants are supported by our experienced mentors and Campus Managers, who are current undergraduates or postgraduates. Our mentors, similar to a Residential Adviser (RA) in the US, are there to make sure participants get the most out of their course. They also give extra support in each student's chosen subject, so everyone leaves Immerse feeling confident about their academic future.

What is a Mentor 'Family'?

During your time at an Immerse summer school, you’ll be placed in a Mentor ‘Family’: a group of around 10 other students from all over the world, plus your mentor. Within this family, you’ll share your experiences and make lasting memories.

What training do the Mentors receive?

The wellbeing of participants is at the forefront of everything we do. Our mentors receive safeguarding and first aid training and are on hand to offer support and friendship to all participants. They understand the challenges and pressures participants face and are happy to share their own advice and experience. Our resident summer team, together with on-site staff, supervises the site 24/7. All our locations are safe environments, and all members of staff undergo extensive security and safety checks, including UK Government Enhanced DBS checks.
