Where can you study Creative Writing with Immerse Education?

In-Person programmes
Students can participate in interactive learning at a campus-based creative writing summer school. Our tutors guide students directly through one-on-one tutoring, and encourage them to share ideas and get better at writing in group workshops. Day trips provide ideas for new stories and seminars taught by experts present novel approaches. Our online programme provides a flexible approach to writing skill development for individuals who would rather learn from home. Students learn various storytelling skills from live lessons with seasoned writers and tailored feedback ensures that each student’s writing gets better and that their unique authorial voice develops. George is a lecturer in Medieval English at Pembroke College, Oxford. He also teaches at Worcester College and University College, Oxford. He holds a BA in English Literature from Durham University, an MSt in English (650-1550) from Mansfield College, Oxford, and a DPhil (PhD) from St Anne’s College, Oxford.

Immerse Education integrates Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) to support ESL students. This approach combines academic content with language development, ensuring that students improve their English proficiency while engaging with subject-specific material. 13-15 year olds will study topics like overcoming writer’s block, creating compelling characters, crafting engaging plots, and building a written portfolio with feedback. Meanwhile, 16-18 year olds will explore creative writing conventions, character development, the publishing industry, and will refine a portfolio or novella with tutor feedback.
No previous skills, experience, or education is required to enrol in the Creative Writing course. However, a keen interest in the subject can be beneficial. Your expert creative writing tutor will provide you with preparatory materials before the commencement of your summer school. This ensures that all participants begin the programme on an equal footing in terms of knowledge.

We have strict safeguarding policies and procedures that cover all cases of students needed medical attention to ensure student safety and wellbeing. If a child requires medical attention, all of our staff are first-aid trained are able to handle minor injuries or illnesses on-site, while more serious cases are referred to the nearest hospital or GP practice. All of our team members pass an Enhanced DBS check (the UK’s criminal record check) and undergo safeguarding and welfare training. Our resident summer team, together with college personnel, supervise each of our sites 24/7. The colleges and the cities themselves are very safe environments.
Meals are provided for students during the programme, with specifics depending on the student’s age group and exact location or college. Typically, students aged 13-15 receive breakfast, lunch, and dinner either on-site or near their accommodation, while students aged 16-18 are provided with breakfast and dinner, with various lunch options available near their accommodation or classrooms.Our host venues accommodate all dietary requirements, including vegetarian, vegan, pescatarian, halal, gluten-free, and allergy-related needs. If your child has specific allergies or dietary restrictions, please include these details in the post-enrolment form so we can make the necessary arrangements.
Students will be responsible for getting to and from the city where the programme is located. However, travel to and from excursions, tours and activities attended during the programme’s duration will be fully arranged by Immerse Education and are included in the fees.
