Explore the curriculum
An introduction to the scientific foundations of medicine, exploring what the body is made of from cells to organs and the genetic “code of life”. Students will learn how genes produce proteins and why molecular biology underpins modern healthcare, linking core science to how clinicians understand and treat disease.
An exploration of why illness happens and how doctors diagnose and treat it. Students will examine the roles of mutations and infection in disease, learn how clinical diagnostics work, explore the immune system in action (including vaccines), and build a clear understanding of cancer basics and key treatments such as surgery, drugs, and radiotherapy.
A deeper look at cutting-edge medical science and cancer research. Students will explore epigenetics and how lifestyle can influence genetic risk, learn about biomarkers and innovations such as liquid biopsy, and examine how researchers study cancer to develop more effective therapies.
Dr Fazlur Rahman Talukdar is a molecular biologist working in cancer genomics and clinical diagnostics at the Cancer Research UK Cambridge Institute. Over two weeks, he led students from the building blocks of life to real-world diagnosis and treatment, so they could test whether medicine was right for them, build a project they were proud of, and speak convincingly about real practice and the new tools shaping patient care.

Lucy Cavendish offers a modern Cambridge experience, with open green lawns, contemporary buildings, and bright communal spaces, creating a relaxed campus environment just a short distance from the historic city centre.

Participants are typically accommodated in historic colleges at Cambridge University, providing an authentic university experience. Accommodation, meals, and extracurricular activities are included in the programme package. The experience of staying at Cambridge colleges is like no other. Each of the colleges has its own individual history and architectural style, and staying within close quarters allows programme participants to forge lifelong bonds. Male and female students will have separate accommodations, and Wi-Fi is available at every college.
King’s College Chapel, Cambridge
Located in the heart of Cambridge, Corpus Christi places students moments from the market square, cafés, shops, and King’s College Chapel, offering a historic yet welcoming college setting in the centre of the city.
