Immerse Education offers two creative writing courses in Sydney designed to help young writers grow. Students aged 13-15 build core writing skills, experiment with different genres, and develop confidence in their work. Those aged 16-18 take their writing further, focusing on character development, storytelling techniques, and editing. Our creative writing classes in Sydney offer a chance to explore ideas, refine skills, and connect with other aspiring writers. Meet some of our Creative Writing tutors

Immerse Education’s Sydney summer school tutors are experienced writers who love storytelling. They help students explore new ideas, build strong writing skills, and gain confidence in their voices. Through writing exercises and workshops, students learn to shape their stories and bring characters to life. Each tutor shares their own writing journey, offering insights and feedback along the way. They encourage students to experiment with different styles, whether poetry, fiction, or scriptwriting. Every lesson is a chance to grow as a writer. For students learning English, tutors introduce key literary terms in a clear and simple way. This helps students discuss stories, themes, and writing techniques with ease. With their support, students sharpen their skills and discover new ways to express themselves. Whether crafting short stories or analysing great works, every session brings fresh inspiration.

Jessica is an English Literature tutor at Lucy Cavendish College at the University of Cambridge, where she completed her PhD.

George Manning

George is a lecturer in Medieval English at Pembroke College, Oxford. He also teaches at Worcester College and University College, Oxford. He holds a BA in English Literature from Durham University, an MSt in English (650-1550) from Mansfield College, Oxford, and a DPhil (PhD) from St Anne’s College, Oxford.

Where you will be staying

Students attending our Sydney summer school will reside at Rydges Camperdown, a modern hotel within walking distance of the University of Sydney campus. Students stay in twin en-suite rooms, with separate male and female allocations, 24/7 reception, and dedicated pastoral staff ensuring a secure and comfortable residential experience. Academic sessions take place at St Andrew’s College, founded in 1867 and among the University of Sydney’s most established residential colleges, providing a traditional collegiate environment that combines heritage architecture with contemporary teaching facilities. Together, the hotel and college environment offers a balanced experience of campus atmosphere and central Sydney living.
