The Biotechnology Summer Programme in Cambridge is designed for high school students aged 16-18. They cover a broad spectrum of topics, from telemedicine and genome exploration to drug discovery, genomics, and the ethical considerations of biotechnological advancements.
Biotech experts have diverse paths, excelling in research, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, and academia. Roles include lab scientists, drug developers, bioinformaticians, bioengineers, and professors. The biotech field encourages ethical exploration, innovation, and improving healthcare. Skills gained extend to fields like medicine, data science, and biopharmaceuticals.
Immerse Education integrates Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) to support ESL students. This approach combines academic content with language development, ensuring that students improve their English proficiency while engaging with subject-specific material. Our experienced tutors use a variety of techniques to enhance understanding and language acquisition. Additionally, they provide personalised feedback and support to help students master subject-specific terminology.

Parents FAQ
We have strict safeguarding policies and procedures that cover all cases of students needed medical attention to ensure student safety and wellbeing. If a child requires medical attention, all of our staff are first-aid trained are able to handle minor injuries or illnesses on-site, while more serious cases are referred to the nearest hospital or GP practice. All of our team members pass an Enhanced DBS check (the UK’s criminal record check) and undergo safeguarding and welfare training. Our resident summer team, together with college personnel, supervise each of our sites 24/7. The colleges and the cities themselves are very safe environments.
Meals are provided for students during the programme, with specifics depending on the student’s age group and exact location or college. Typically, students aged 13-15 receive breakfast, lunch, and dinner either on-site or near their accommodation, while students aged 16-18 are provided with breakfast and dinner, with various lunch options available near their accommodation or classrooms.Our host venues accommodate all dietary requirements, including vegetarian, vegan, pescatarian, halal, gluten-free, and allergy-related needs. If your child has specific allergies or dietary restrictions, please include these details in the post-enrolment form so we can make the necessary arrangements.
Students will be responsible for getting to and from the city where the programme is located. However, travel to and from excursions, tours and activities attended during the programme’s duration will be fully arranged by Immerse Education and are included in the fees.
