In the Media and Journalism course with Immerse Education, students typically study a variety of key topics designed to give them a comprehensive understanding of the field. To enrol in an Immerse Education course, there is no requirement for prior subject knowledge. The primary prerequisite is a genuine passion for learning and exploring new realms. To facilitate a smooth entry into the course material, pre-course reading materials will be provided to all participants, ensuring that each participant can embark on their educational journey with confidence and a solid foundation of understanding.
Immerse's Media and Journalism program is designed to introduce high school students to the dynamic world of news, communication, and media production. Through this program, students gain a deep understanding of the principles of journalism, including reporting, writing, and ethical standards, as well as the technical skills needed to produce multimedia content. In today’s information-driven world, it’s crucial for young people to learn how to critically evaluate sources, craft compelling stories, and understand the impact of media on society. By studying Media and Journalism, students not only prepare for potential careers in the field but also develop critical thinking, communication, and digital literacy skills that are essential in any profession.
Students who study Media and Journalism with Immerse Education’s summer school can explore a range of exciting career prospects. Parents FAQ
We have strict safeguarding policies and procedures that cover all cases of students needed medical attention to ensure student safety and wellbeing. If a child requires medical attention, all of our staff are first-aid trained are able to handle minor injuries or illnesses on-site, while more serious cases are referred to the nearest hospital or GP practice. All of our team members pass an Enhanced DBS check (the UK’s criminal record check) and undergo safeguarding and welfare training. Our resident summer team, together with college personnel, supervise each of our sites 24/7. The colleges and the cities themselves are very safe environments.
Meals are provided for students during the programme, with specifics depending on the student’s age group and exact location or college. Typically, students aged 13-15 receive breakfast, lunch, and dinner either on-site or near their accommodation, while students aged 16-18 are provided with breakfast and dinner, with various lunch options available near their accommodation or classrooms.Our host venues accommodate all dietary requirements, including vegetarian, vegan, pescatarian, halal, gluten-free, and allergy-related needs. If your child has specific allergies or dietary restrictions, please include these details in the post-enrolment form so we can make the necessary arrangements.
Students will be responsible for getting to and from the city where the programme is located. However, travel to and from excursions, tours and activities attended during the programme’s duration will be fully arranged by Immerse Education and are included in the fees.
