Apply for TED Summer School
Admission to the TED Summer School is selective. We’re looking for curious, motivated students who are eager to grow as communicators and ready to develop their ideas and their voice.
The application process
1. Start your application
Fill out the online application form together with your parent or legal guardian. You’ll be asked for your basic details, contact information, and your preferred programme location and dates.
2. Submit your motivation
Tell us about “An Idea Worth Spreading.” It could be something you’re curious about, a subject you enjoy studying, or a global challenge that matters to you.
You can either:
- Write a short personal statement (up to 250 words)
Upload a 90-second video introducing your idea
3. Confirm your application
To complete the submission, a £995 deposit is required.
- The deposit will be applied towards your total programme fee if your application is successful.
- If we are unable to offer you a place, the deposit will be refunded in full.
We ask parents/legal guardians to review and confirm the application before payment to ensure full awareness and consent.
If you require financial support, please complete the TED Summer School Financial Aid form before submitting your main application.
4. Admissions review
Our admissions team carefully reviews each application to assess potential, curiosity, and readiness to contribute. We’re not looking for perfection, we’re looking for promise.
You’ll hear from us within 7 days of submitting a complete application. If successful, you’ll receive an offer of a place along with the next steps for enrolment.
5. Get ready
Once enrolled, you’ll receive further guidance, with recommended reading and preparation tips closer to the programme start.

- Upload a 90-second video as your answer
