Explore the Architecture & Design programme in New York

Set in one of the world’s most iconic creative capitals, the Architecture & Design summer programme in New York offers students aged 15–18 the opportunity to explore how buildings, spaces, and cities are shaped through design. From urban planning and sustainable architecture to interior design and spatial theory, this course blends artistic thinking with technical foundations. You’ll visit architecture firms, complete practical design tasks, explore the psychology of space, and develop your visual communication skills through hands-on workshops led by experienced professionals.

New York itself becomes your classroom — from skyscrapers and museums to neighbourhood projects and hidden design gems, you’ll find constant inspiration. You’ll also discuss contemporary challenges like climate resilience, equity in design, and new digital tools that are transforming the field. Studying Architecture in New York gives you a powerful, practical insight into what it means to design for the world we live in.

Where you will be staying

Overview of studying in a global business hub

Participants will stay in Barnard College, a part of Columbia University, situated in the heart of Manhattan. This prestigious location offers students an authentic Ivy League experience, surrounded by the cultural and intellectual energy of New York City. From iconic landmarks to vibrant neighbourhoods, students will enjoy access to world-class museums, theatres, and historic sites, just steps from their residence. Accommodation includes modern, comfortable rooms with shared facilities, Wi-Fi access, and 24/7 on-site security. Male and female students are housed separately. The residential setting fosters a strong sense of community, encouraging friendships and collaboration.
