Tutors From World-Class Universities
Participants will explore novel concepts and share ideas in small groups of like-minded peers. They will be guided by expert tutors who have honed their expertise through teaching undergraduate students at world-class universities, including the universities of Cambridge, Oxford and Harvard.
Our rigorous vetting process ensures that all participants are taught by educators who are engaging and supportive – and most of all, enthusiastic about sharing their expertise to ensure our summer school teaching is of the highest quality.
Carefully-designed & Challenging Curricula
At Immerse Education’s academic programmes, participants have the unique opportunity to study the subject they are passionate about in university-level programmes that are designed and taught by expert tutors.
Participants are encouraged to stretch themselves beyond the boundaries of a school curriculum and to delve into completely new and challenging content. The Immerse Education academic syllabuses and our team of tutors are what set our academic programmes apart.
Small Class Sizes
With an average of 7 participants (maximum 10), our small class sizes facilitate interactive learning, collaboration and debate, as participants approach academically challenging content.
Throughout all academic sessions, the ability of each student is taken into account. Additional tutorials also offer the opportunity for a personalised approach to learning.
In addition to small class sizes, each student benefits from one-to-one tutorials with their university tutor on a weekly basis. The tutorial system is a highly regarded method of university teaching, which is supportive, academically challenging and rigorous. During a tutorial, students learn to orally communicate, defend, analyse and critique ideas in conversations with the tutor.
With the support of expert academic tutors, all participants aged 16-18 complete an academic project during their time with Immerse. The Immerse Personal Project allows each participant to develop their individual research, writing and presentation skills.
These are transferable skills that are vital for success in higher education. Students often relish the opportunity to explore a topic of their interest. Tutors ensure that they provide individualised guidance on each project throughout the programme. Some participants use the opportunity to advance their project for the International Baccalaureate.
Our tutors are passionate about the academic development of their students and, therefore, provide individualised written feedback and reflections after the programme.
This provides insight into a participant’s strengths, areas for further exploration and recommended reading to further their academic curiosity.
We believe that confidence is key to the learning process and endeavour to develop this in each of our participants. We achieve this by providing participants with the knowledge and support that will empower them to achieve their full potential.
Academic sessions at Immerse Education are collaborative, thought-provoking and dynamic. Participants explore theory within practical contexts and discuss the ideas behind the theory, whilst debates challenge each participant to embrace new perspectives.
Whilst our courses are designed for non-native speakers to improve their English language skills through content and language-integrated learning, we are also pleased to welcome a number of native and proficient level speakers to our programmes.
Our workshops are geared towards unlocking participants’ potential, giving them the tools to prepare for the next steps of their education and future goals. Students will build upon existing study skills to support future university-level learning.
These workshops explore a diverse and enriching variety of topics. Past examples have ranged from productivity tips to 21st-century technology skills. We’re sure that you’ll learn something completely new.
Inspirational Guest Speakers
Each year we are delighted to welcome a diverse range of eminent speakers as part of our guest speaker series. Academics, politicians, sports personalities and industry experts are each able to provide a fascinating insight into their respective careers – providing you with ample inspiration.
