Dr Keith Siew

PhD in Physiology, University of Cambridge | Senior Research Fellow and co-lead, London Tubular Centre, UCL

Dr Keith Siew is a Senior Research Fellow at University College London and co-lead of the London Tubular Centre. He completed his PhD in Physiology at the University of Cambridge and has since received international awards and fellowships for his interdisciplinary research, which brings together clinicians, physicists, engineers, veterinarians and space agencies. His work uses techniques in physiology, microscopy, AI, omics technologies and bioengineering to improve diagnosis, prognosis and treatment, often by studying extremes such as ultra-rare diseases, toxins, space radiation, microgravity and animal adaptations.

Dr Siew also sits on the Immerse Education Academic Advisory Panel. He said of his involvement:
“I can bring my experience lecturing and supervising research students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels at Cambridge and UCL, as well as teaching and developing syllabi with Immerse Education since 2016, to the AAP. I’m passionate about shaping a course that inspires the next generation of medics and scientists.

“For as long as I’ve been teaching with Immerse, there has been an openness to new ideas and an emphasis on pairing theory with practical elements in the class. Like many other tutors, I always aim to keep learning fun yet academically challenging.”
