The Career Insights programme has been great. I’ve been interacting with so many different people from different cultures and different countries, and it’s been fun to learn new things about business management that I didn’t know earlier. Throughout the programme, I’ve noticed myself developing and changing into a more confident individual who has more clarity of his future. It gives you more clarity on how to present projects in front of educators, and it gives you an edge over the rest.

The Immerse New York Summer School: Ideas in action
Welcome to the New York Summer School, designed for ambitious students aged 15–18 who want to see how ideas work in the real world. Our New York summer program combines expert-led teaching, small-group workshops, and close mentor support, giving students first-hand exposure to professional thinking and industry contexts. Across a range of subjects, students move beyond theory to explore how decisions are made, problems are solved, and careers take shape – using New York as a global classroom.

Live and study on Columbia University’s Upper Manhattan campus
Participants will stay in Barnard College, a part of Columbia University, situated in the heart of Manhattan. This prestigious location offers students an authentic Ivy League experience, surrounded by the cultural and intellectual energy of New York City. From iconic landmarks to vibrant neighbourhoods, students will enjoy access to world-class museums, theatres, and historic sites, just steps from their residence. Accommodation includes modern, comfortable rooms with shared facilities, Wi-Fi access, and 24/7 on-site security. Male and female students are housed separately. The residential setting fosters a strong sense of community, encouraging friendships and collaboration.

Our tutor was amazing. He knew the answer to every question that you could think of about engineering, knew about everyone’s specialist subjects and was happy to discuss opportunities in each field with us. My favourite aspect of the programme would be going on Industry trips such as the tour of the London Underground, and how engineering plays such a vital role. It’s so much easier to learn and focus when there’s something that’s always keeping your attention rather than just having to focus only on lectures and classroom learning.
The Career Insights programme has been really, for lack of a better word, ‘immersive’ into what the experience of living in London for university would really be like – having that chance to connect with different people and comparing our own experiences, discussing what we’ve learned and meshing all our knowledge to come up with big collective ideas to share with the group in class. The programme has given me a lot of clarity on what a career or even a university education in medicine really looks like.
