Today the participants started their day with some more typically British weather, but the rain certainly didn’t dampen their spirits as they continued with their studies. From mathematics to creative writing, the lessons continued to inspire the minds of our cohort.
Fortunately, the sun came out to greet us before we set off in our punts for a chauffeured tour down the river. Not only did some participants help to save stranded punts in their journey down the river, they also learnt all the stories behind the Cambridge colleges and their treasures. These included the story behind the Bridge of Sighs and the construction of the mathematical bridge in Queens’ College.
Time for a Punt
From the punts, we could admire the grounds of St. John’s College where we looked forward to dining this evening. When the time came everyone got their glad rags on, ready for a glamorous formal dinner and of course some fabulous photos. The dinner did not disappoint: from duck and scallops, to salted caramel mousse and truffles, we were all treated to a meal fit for kings and queens. Of course, this was quite fitting with our regal surroundings in the college hall!
Happily full to the brim and in high spirits the whole team headed back to Christ’s College for some relaxed games before getting the rest needed for another jam-packed and fun-filled day tomorrow.
