For 16-18 year olds interested in studying Computer Science, the Immerse Education Computer Science summer programme offers the perfect opportunity to explore your subject in depth ahead of committing to more advanced study. You will walk in the footsteps of a student in Oxford as you explore the range of topics available to a computing student and appreciate the interdisciplinary nature of this field. Topics range from object-oriented programming, to AI and Machine Learning and beyond enabling you to get a feel for what it would be like to study Computer Science at an advanced level.

Christy Kin-Cleaves, Computer Science tutor

Christy received his BSc in computer science, followed by his MSc in Advance Software Engineering from Durham University. After his studies he worked for Bank of America Merrill Lynch developing delta-one trading platforms. He is now completing his DPhil (PhD) in theoretical computer science at the University of Oxford, with a specialism in adaptive steganography.

Outside of his studies, Christy is a very keen rower, and also enjoys squash as well as road cycling and skiing.

Our academic summer schools are designed for students aged
13-15 years old, and for students aged 16-18 years old. Whatever
age you are, you will be taking part in an academically demanding
(but enjoyable!) programme, living in Cambridge University
colleges, and meeting other motivated students from all over the
