Module 1 - Medical Research "From Bench to Bedside"
The Nobel Prize in Medicine recognises some of the world’s most important scientific breakthroughs to have revolutionised patient care and our understanding of life. But how are these discoveries made, and more importantly who makes them? You will revisit the principles of the scientific method, and delve into the various stages of medical research and the growing necessity for interdisciplinary approaches.
Module 2 - Cardiovascular And Respiratory Physiology
Tireless breathing keeps our blood oxygenated, while 3 billion heartbeats a lifetime transport it around the body. You will probe scientific questions and consider current and emerging therapies to fight cardiovascular and respiratory diseases. You will also develop a deeper understanding of the roles of CPR and AED in the emergency treatment of heart attacks and address questions such as: ‘Why do some people get mountain sickness?’, ‘Is snoring bad for you?’ and ‘What does an asthma inhaler do?’
Module 3 - Neuroscience and Neuropsychology
You will be given an overview of the basic microanatomy and physiology of neurons, analyse how these cells produce electrical signals (action potentials) and discuss how the 37 trillion cells of your body can communicate and coordinate with one another. You’ll explore the power of the placebo effect, and challenge preconceived notions using a variety of optical, auditory and tactile sensory illusions.
Module 4 - Science Conference
Partake in a mini-science conference where you’ll present a research topic assigned earlier in the week. You will be encouraged to view each other’s work critically, ask follow-up questions and engage with the subject matter.

Live on Campus
All participants will be assigned to a college a few weeks before arrival, based on their dates and subject choice. If you wish to stay with a friend or sibling, please inform us, and we will try to accommodate your request where possible. -
Fine dine in Formal Hall
Participants will enjoy two traditional Cambridge College formal dinners during their programme, each a three-course meal reflecting the college's unique traditions. The first dinner occurs in the initial week of arrival, and the second follows the graduation ceremony, offering a true taste of Cambridge life. -
Graduation Ceremony
The graduation ceremony, held in a historic Cambridge hall, celebrates participants' achievements with inspirational speeches and the awarding of certificates. The formal event, often attended by faculty, peers, and special guests, concludes with a traditional formal dinner, marking a memorable end to the transformative Cambridge experience.

Visit Oxford & London
There are two full-day excursions during the programme, one day trip to visit Oxford and its constituent colleges, as well as an optional day out in London, seeing the city’s most famous landmarks as well as some free time for shopping. -
Sports, Games & Leisure
Outside of lessons, we are proud to offer a busy and diverse social programme to help you get the most out of your time in Cambridge. This includes activities such as punting on the River Cam, Scavenger Hunt and a murder mystery night in the college. -
Evening Events
Evenings feature a variety of events, including inspiring guest speaker sessions, talent shows, cake and canvas painting evenings, quiz nights with friends, and sports tournaments. Though there's some time for study, the primary focus is on unwinding and socialising after a busy day.
