Our Immerse students and mentors got their sweat on today as temperatures in Cambridge reached over 30 degrees – perfect weather to dive into their Day 2 activities, which included chauffeured punting down the river this afternoon after the academic sessions. During this quintessential Cambridge experience, the students were able to see the city from a completely different view (literally!) despite the blazing heat. The punt guides also reeled off interesting facts about each college and its alumnae as we floated by classic landmarks such as King’s Chapel and the Wren Library, providing our students with a great chance to take part in our Instagram competition – #immerse2019 !

After punting, the students had a chance to refuel at dinner before they split into two groups – one trooped off to the beautiful lush gardens of King’s College to watch a spirited live outdoor performance of Shakespeare’s Hamlet, whilst the other group stayed at Catz to listen to James Borrell’s fascinating and extremely topical talk on conservation and the ethics of trophy hunting. The students were able to engage in lively debate about the latter topic and came away feeling informed and hopefully inspired by our guest speaker.

The mentors are still busy at work behind the scenes whilst our students are in class – plans for talent night and final night party are already underway, and we can’t wait to update you with tales from those sure-to-be exciting events!
