Rain, Rain Go Away

However, following the afternoon’s classes, students got to see an even rarer sight: rain! The long. dry British heatwave was finally broken as it began raining, thundering down at the end of today’s sports day. Whilst the students of St. Catharine’s took their turn at Krashball, Sidney Sussex and Christ’s got dressed in gym gear and took to Jesus Green to compete in games of croquet, football, ultimate frisbee, and rounders (yes in the rain) . Others, seeking a more meditative afternoon, stretched it out in a small yoga class.

Tired from a long day of studying and sports, students settled into the lecture theatres at Christ’s and St. Catharine’s for the much-anticipated movie night. Popcorn and sweets were passed around as the rows of students laughed along to a showing of ‘St. Trinian’s’ on the big projector. After the film, all retired early in preparation for tomorrow’s trip to Oxford.
