At this year’s CareerFest, attendees witnessed an inspiring milestone in Immerse Education’s journey to help young people find their voice. During a live workshop led by Logan Smalley, founding Executive Director of TED-Ed, TED announced an exciting new partnership with Immerse Education: the launch of TED Summer School, coming in 2026.
The programme will take place in London, New York, and Singapore, with a virtual option available too – offering students worldwide the opportunity to develop the skills that turn bright ideas into powerful talks, and in the long term, transform your potential.
The announcement came during an interactive ideas workshop, where students explored what makes a great talk memorable, how to shape an idea into a “through line,” and why finding your voice can be a lifelong act of courage. Participants were the first in the world to hear about TED Summer School – an in-person and virtual experience that will help students communicate with clarity, confidence, and purpose. And now, we’re excited to share that opportunity with the world.
Introducing TED
TED’s mission is simple but profound: to provide a platform for speakers to share “ideas worth spreading.” Through its global network of talks and its award-winning education initiative, TED-Ed, it has inspired millions to think differently and communicate more effectively. TED-Ed’s student programmes now reach tens of thousands of classrooms worldwide, helping young people build the confidence to speak up, share perspectives, and claim their voices. The TED Summer School continues that tradition, blending TED’s credibility and inspiration with Immerse’s academic excellence and structure.
Confidence and Communication Are Already at the Heart of Immerse
Public speaking and idea-sharing have long been part of the Immerse experience. Our Female Future Leaders Summer School, for instance, culminated in a livestreamed debate where participants delivered persuasive speeches on global challenges, learning to communicate under real pressure. The event didn’t just celebrate ideas – it celebrated the confidence and composure needed to defend them.
Similarly, our Online Research Programme (ORP) encourages students to take their academic findings beyond the classroom. Each year, top student research papers are presented at a biannual symposium, giving young scholars the chance to discuss their discoveries before an international audience. Check out the winning paper here.
Through initiatives like these, Immerse students learn that ideas are most powerful when shared – and that every presentation, paper, and debate is a step towards shaping the future.
The new TED Summer School builds on that same mission. Together with TED, we’ll help students take their first steps toward presentation literacy: discovering, developing, and delivering ideas that matter.
What to Expect: Discover, Shape, Share
The TED Summer School guides students through a structured, transformative journey. Over two weeks, students on our in-person programmes will discover, shape, and share ideas that matter to them:
- Discover Ideas – Students will begin by reflecting on their passions, values, and experiences to identify a topic they care about deeply.
- Shape Ideas – They’ll learn to craft compelling narratives through storytelling, structure, and evidence, guided by expert mentors and communicators.
- Share Ideas – Each participant refines and delivers their own TED-style talk to a live audience, recorded professionally as a lasting showcase of their growth.
Alongside public speaking, participants gain skills in critical thinking, collaboration, and audience awareness – tools that extend well beyond the stage. The experience combines TED’s inspiration and global reach with Immerse’s rigorous academic support, empowering students to become thoughtful, articulate communicators who understand the power of their own voice.
