The day started off with a nutritious breakfast at Queens’ College, Cambridge, ranging from the classic cereal options to a full English breakfast. The participants then went off to their tutorials to gain more insight and understanding about their respective subject choices.
Scenic, historical and peaceful are some words that can be used to describe Cambridge. Participants were given the opportunity to capture Cambridge during their chauffeured punting tour. Thankfully no-one fell into the river but we’ll wait until next week when the students have a go at punting by themselves.
During the afternoon break, the mentors discovered the hidden talents of some of the participants. John, for example, showed us some pretty mind-blowing magic tricks that he has up his sleeve for the talent show.
Like Something Out of Harry Potter…
After the second set of tutorials, the participants changed into slightly formal wear for a four-course formal meal at St John’s College, Cambridge or into a scene of Harry Potter as some of the participants pointed out. In a candle-lit room with waiters and tasteful food, the participants were made to feel like royals and enjoyed one of the treasured traditions at Cambridge.
