Saddened goodbyes and fond farewells were made by all the students this morning, as they left the Immerse Education family. Ready to travel back across the world or simply down to London, the participants would be returning home to share with their families many stories from a very successful two weeks.
A Lot Has Been Learned
Throughout this enriching experience, the students have been academically challenged and have shown both intellectual engagement and admirable commitment to their studies. We have enjoyed watching the Maths and Science students tackle complex equations, the lawyers conducting a mock trial and the Management students creating an intriguing business plan! They will have learnt a bank of new knowledge, beyond their current syllabus at school, which they can develop further in the upcoming months and years. During the University interview and personal statement workshops, the students have also shown great preparation and enthusiasm for the application process which will be key to their success.
Outside of the classroom, the students have also demonstrated their fun-loving nature as we embarked upon many activities and excursions. From the peaceful English croquet and afternoon tea in Granchester, to the high-intensity sports day, and the awe from stepping into King’s college chapel, there was constant enthusiasm and interest shown from the participants as they truly immersed themselves in the Cambridge culture.
Their creativity, stage talent and general knowledge shone as we enjoyed the ‘Cake & Canvas’ evening, the Immerse Education Quiz and the talent night. The latter saw some realist animal impressions, a stunning piano performance, baton twirling, our very own rendition of Frank Sinatra’s ‘Blue Moon’ and a heart-melting ‘Someone Like You’ on the guitar. A truly fantastic evening. The students also enjoyed some more relaxing evenings watching films and Shakespeare.
A Final Goodbye
Our two days out in London and Oxford gave the participants a real chance to explore these famous cities and added to a more rounded visit of the UK. For the locals, they were still able to learn many new facts about key monuments and gain snaps with their new found friends.
The experience as a whole has seen many happy moments, many unforgettable experiences and many great characters develop and come out of their shell. Having eaten, learnt and explored all together, it really has been two weeks with a Immerse Education family.
