My name is Katherine Sawey and I am a sixth form student at St. Swithun’s School in Winchester. I attended Immerse Education in July 2017 to study architecture. This enhanced my love for the subject and since then I have won the Arkwright Engineering Scholarship and taken part in a workshop organised by my sponsors: The Happold Foundation. I worked on my technical drawing and CAD skills while I was there which I now teach to fellow students in an extra curricular club that I started at my school. I have also helped out in Art and Design lessons for 7-9 year olds. This, alongside my completion of Bronze and Silver Duke of Edinburgh, has helped me with my leadership as I am deputy head of house. I have competed in multiple architecture design competitions for ArchDaily. I have had work experience with World Programming which is a computing company because as well as architecture I am also interested in Virtual Reality and how it it will be used in the future. Moreover, I am currently working on an Extended Project Qualification in architecture in which I am redesigning monuments with other cultures in mind. I lived in the Middle East for 8 years which has made me more interested in different cultures and keen to explore the world.
