The participants were excited for their second weekend excursion but this time to London! The students were able to wander around the beautiful buildings of South Kensington and got lunch at local cafes and looked around the shopping area. After lunch out in town the students enjoyed mentor led tours of the Science Museum, the V&A and the Natural History Museum and fully soaked in all that London cultural life has to offer and were able to expand their horizons and expound upon what they have been learning in their academic sessions in a different context. After the museum tours there was some more exploration of the area with groups going to Imperial College and Hyde Park before everyone regrouped in Hyde Park for a pizza picnic!

Meanwhile in Cambridge some students chose to stay behind to participate in an academic fair lead by the mentors in which the students learnt key skills such as debating and essay writing as well as furthering their university application with workshops such as interview techniques or personal statement writing. The fair was held in the historic Cambridge Union so not only were the participants able to get some key tips and tricks from their mentors about university but they were also able to view another quintessentially Cambridge venue and be fully immersed in the town. All in all it was a fun packed and informative day and all the participants are ready and raring to go for another week of Immerse.
